Modern photography is a new style that blends traditional studio photography principles with that of fashion photographers. Traditional photography often places subjects in the studio on painted backgrounds, in traditional chairs and clothing they rarely wear. Traditional photography does use amazing lighting techniques that provide dynamic lighting that enliven the eyes and give the photo a surreal effect of being real and having depth. Fashion photography is about placing subjects in sterile environments and photographing them with simple lighting to bring focus to the subject only.

Our modern style seeks to blend these two different types of photography into one. In studio we often photograph on brightly colored backgrounds like white to bring the focus to our subjects. When lighting, however, we enjoy the traditional style of lighting to enliven the photograph and give it depth. With our studio being located downtown we love to venture outside during our sessions.

Lex-Vegas offers numerous outdoor locations like Triangle park, Thouroughbred Park, and other little hidden alleys. We enjoy discovering new and interesting downtown locations to photograph in all the time. These locations provide interesting depth that traditional studio painted backgrounds just cannot offer.
