Kristine & Steve’s Dayton Wedding

Kristine and Steve were married at St. Joseph’s Church in Dayton, Ohio.  After a brief (and hilarious) stop at Radio Shack to pick up Steve’s new phone we made our way to the Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark and Dayton Art Institute for some photos.  This wedding party was GREAT considering it must have been 100 degrees outside and we managed to narrowly avert some pretty huge storms earlier in the day!  The reception followed at the historic Hope Hotel on the grounds of the Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  Great fun was had by all and some pretty amazing photos are left to show for it!

What a beautiful location!  Such a grand old church … you cannot help but feel “spiritual” in a place like this.  I love churches that a huge long aisle!

The day started off with hair at Square One Salon and makeup by Liz Fenner… PS… if you are in Dayton you MUST try Square One!

There were, of course, GORGEOUS flowers… and the thing that made these special is that they SMELLED awesome!

I just LOVED this capture… nothing like the stolen glaces between two people about to be married!!!  The love is palpable. 

We chased away the rain so there was really no need for umbrellas but we paid homage to the rain earlier in the day with this photo at the Dayton Art Institute.

Then we stopped off at the Wegeryzn Gardens   TONS of fun places there to take pics… I wish it had not be so unearthly hot or we could have been there for hours.  Unfortunately we could only handle a few minutes in the 100+ degree heat!

We were able to steal a few minutes away from the rocking reception to capture a few shots on the base at Wright Patterson outside the historic Hope Hotel.

We are so proud to announce that TWO Schmidt Studio & Gallery Couples were recently featured in the WOW Weddings issue as some of Kentucky’s TOP 2009 Weddings!!!!  We are very proud to be featured alongside some of Kentucky’s TOP wedding photographers!

Congratulations to Trish & Shawn, and Kimberlee & Denver!  You truly had amazing weddings that we were PROUD to be a part of!

I do have to say what a privilege it is to be here, in this place in our life, running this studio, and getting to WORK every single day, doing something we love.  This is not a JOB for us.  It is a truly expressive and beautiful way to live.  Spending the MOST special day of a couple’s life with them, as their sidekicks… it is always an honor!  Maybe that is why our wedding couples are so special to us and why we like to keep them around long after the wedding is over…. who knows.  We are blessed to be acknowledged for our work and to be listed among “the best”.  We are SO excited to see what new opportunities this will bring to SS&G and to our couples!

Annette and Tom Sneak Peek

Just a sneak peek of Annette and Tom’s wedding photos.  I will save their amazing story for the real post but I have to say that these two… amaze me!  I was SO honored to be a part of their amazing wedding day! (Obviously!  I just used the word amaze in three sentences concurrently!)

Amazingly cool rings!  Of course I can say that because Annette’s engagement rings is STRIKINGLY similar to mine!  We have good taste!  What can I say?

Thank Goodness for groomsmen with flair!

So maybe I do have to say a word or two.  I simply HAD to include this pic on the first round… I have never seen a wedding that was more filled with laughter than this wedding.  This photo pretty much sums up what it feels like to watch Annette and Tom together… magical!

Ashley and David’s Campbellsville Wedding

Ashley and David were married July 19, 2008 at Campbellsville Baptist Church… the stunning reception followed on the grounds of her parent’s home. The whole day was a wicked good time!! From the teary eyed ceremony to the amazing reception, Ashley, David, their family and friends celebrated late into the wee hours of the night!! (or morning however you look at it! LOL)
