Erin & Allen’s Negril, Jamaica Destination Wedding

Erin and Allen found us through Youtube (of all places) :)   We never actually had the privilege of meeting before the wedding but that did not stop us from becoming fast friends!  We joined them and their 50 closest family and friends at the Couples Swept Away Resort in Negril, Jamaica for their wedding on 8/9/10 (yes… still catching up on blogging!). It was neat to share our 10th anniversary week with them and we could not have chosen a better couple! After spending a few days getting to know Erin, Allen, their family and friends we felt right at home! We are determined to make it to NY soon to visit! :) Their ceremony took place on the beautiful white sands with a cocktail hour following in the lush gardens to the center of the resort. It was a beautiful week and a fabulous wedding that we were proud to be a part of. We only wish that Erin and Allen lived closer so that we could see them more often!

Jason and Mandie

Jason and Mandie were married at Estes Chapel on the campus of Asbury College in Wilmore. Kentucky.  The cool crisp day was decorated with a bright blue sky and passing clouds.  Even though the breeze was chilly the day was beautiful and all of the bridesmaids were in good spirits for our outdoor photos :)   The day was full of tears and smiles … just as every good wedding day is and was followed by great food and fun shared by family and friend at their reception which followed at the Lexington Country Club.

Mandie and Janson- Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful wedding day.  We wish you many years of health and happiness together!

Without further ado… Mandie & Jason Romesberg

Trish & Shawn’s Berry Hill Wedding

TSB_SS_047

Trish and Shawn were married on a cool cloudy fall day at the Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort, KY.  The wedding was coordinated by Brandan Gravitt of The Bride’s Assistant here in Lexington, KY.  There were so many cool special little touches its hard to even go into them all!  My favorites were the place cards hung on clothespins at the entrance of the reception tent, and the dramatically lit trees with tiny birds gracing their branches… you will have to watch the slideshow to see!!!  The food was amazing as always, by DaRae & Friends Catering.

We actually met Trish almost two years ago.  She was a bridesmaid in another of our weddings and we were SO happy to get the call that she too, had gotten engaged!  I know that the whole wedding planning was a bit stressful for her as she was doubling up a wedding in the same time period as the first semester of her Master’s program!!!!!!!!!!  (Congrats on that btw Trish!)

Trish and Shawn, we had a blast.  The whole day was elegant and beautiful!  Thank you for allowing us to share the day with you.  We hope that when you look back on these images, in years to come, that you will still feel how special your wedding day was!  Best wishes for an amazing life together!

Brittney and Eric’s Fasig-Tipton Wedding

BEA_185
Brittney and Eric were married at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington. Although the skies threatened us with rain, the day was beautiful and the sun set over the rolling hills with a warm glow in the sky. The day was filled with tons of fun. After the ceremony, the wedding party took a drive downtown for a quick toast at the Big Blue Martini and a few pics in Triangle Park. The reception kicked off with Brittney and Eric receiving Broncos vs Chargers tickets! That was a huge hit! Their decor was stunning and their cake was of course fabulous as ever (by the one and only Brenda of the Sugar Forrest).

There were so many little touches that made their day special. Instead of signing a guest book, the guests signed a pair of Ski’s that will be displayed in their home. In lieu of favors, the couple made a donation to the Wounded Warriors and Livestrong Foundations and had the always cool Livestrong bracelets and support our troops magnets as their favors!

We always have a blast with our couples and I know I always say that each of them are my favorites because they truly are. Brittney and Eric, thank you for allowing us to capture your wedding day memories! We wish you all the best that life has to offer!

James and Randa’s Asbury Wedding

So I made it mostly through proofing James and Randa’s images before I completely lost it.  That is a side effect of being so close to your clients… although you give them a gift of photography, they are forever emblazoned in your heart.  I enjoy all of my clients.  I have fun with all of my clients.  I say goodbye to many of my clients knowing that it may be a long time before we see each other again as they move on with their lives, out of state, to bigger and better things.  But every now and then a client wanders into is divinely placed in your life.  You know that they are there for a reason and you feel lucky and blessed by their friendship.  James and Randa are one of those.  Those people who leave a footprint on your heart and you know you will never be the same.

I watched as their wedding ceremony was as much about worship as it was about them.  It was as much about friends and family as it was about them.  These two are the single most selfless people I have known in a very long time and in proofing their photos, in seeing the love and light inside them, they make me want to be a better person.

I am sure they never set out on their journey to plan a wedding thinking “I think we’ll go change some lives today” but … for such a time as this… we were given the privilege of spending their wedding day with them.  We were the lucky ones.

Congratulations James and Randa.  I know that God has a truly “beautiful ending” for each of you.

Randa’s Bridal Session

Randa has waited so patiently to see her bridal images!  We shot these at Waveland, in Lexington.  Could there be a more gorgeous bride (inside and out??)………

Mackenzie & Chris’ Andover Clubhouse Wedding

Mackenzie and Chris were married at the Andover Country Club in Lexington.  The wedding was coordinated by Jackie Lee of Every Last Detail Wedding and Event Counseling.  The Floral Design was by the fabulous Suzi at Magnolia Floral Design.  Cake was by Tinker’s.  I think that was the hottest wedding of the year but no one was deterred!  The club was elegantly draped with gorgeous decor as was the ceremony location.  My personal favorite touch was the rose petal monogram in the aisle!!!  The day culminated the breathtaking entrance of the bride into the ceremony riding with her Daddy in the horse drawn carriage.  Very magical and VERY Cinderella.  Everything a little girl dreams of.

Mackenzie and Chris,

We wish you nothing but blue skies and laughter for the rest of your lives.  We hopes that your paths are straight and that life hands you roses that sparkles like those in your bouquet.  We wish you happiness, wealth and all the love that you can find in the world!!!

Mark and Alex’s Central Christian / Marriott Griffin Gate Wedding

Mark and Alex were married at Central Christian Church in Lexington. Their reception followed at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and encompassed all of the main ballrooms. It was truly a Cinderella story event. Every now and then you get a couple who come along and touch your life, Alex happens to be one of those brides for me. Over the course of the past year I have had the privilege of getting to know her and it was my honor to share in her and Mark’s wedding day.

For Mark and Alex their family is their #1 priority and it shows. There were SO many special touches everywhere you turned I was in tears many times. I think my favorite was that her bouquet was created by a family friend and each piece had a story. The long dangling pieces of greenery are actually cut from the cherry tree that was given to her by her aunt when she was born. How cool is THAT?

Instead of bouquets, her bridesmaids carried hurricane lanterns for their candlelight ceremony which created a surreal glow at the altar. I think with the number of bridesmaids that they could have turned out the lights completely and had enough light to light the room… LOL. In all seriousness… it was big fun and we count it our privilege to have been a part of their rehearsal and wedding days!

Congratulations Mark and Alex and best wishes on a beautiful life together!

Kimberlee & Denver’s Talon Winery Wedding

KDTalonWinery

Kimberlee and Denver were married and the gorgeous Talon Winery out Tates Creek road in Lexington. A stormy day gave way to a blue sky littered with leftover gray puffy clouds and the coolest Friday evening wedding that I have ever had the privilege of enjoying in the vineyard. It was an emotional day from the first moment when Kimberlee’s step-dad saw her for the first time to her walk through the vineyard down the aisle to the the first dance, I could barely hold back the tears. Maybe its knowing all I do about this beautiful couple and having had a year getting to know them but I was honored to get to be a part of their wedding day. If I had to give this wedding a superlative award they would get the “BEST Groom Bride, Groom and Dad crying Down the Aisle” Award!

The day could not have been more perfect, from the beautiful weather (eventually) to the gorgeous flower (from Carol Lynn Originals), to the Gorgeous Dress (I mean does she look FIERCE or what?), to the amazing cake which mirrored the design of her dress to a rockin’ party hosted by the DJ of Complete Music, the night was PERFECTLY complete!

I also have to take a minute and say, I don’t think that before or since I have EVER taken as many “couple” photos as I did of these two. They are just SO good together. I mean like ridiculously amazingly good! Some couples I have to coach or ask them to kiss or push to get what I need but these two… they have a have this connection that transcends me and I was MORE than happy to sit back and just allow that to surpass me.

Kimberlee and DJ… Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding. It truly was a gorgeous affair. We wish you many years of happiness, wealth and love! (PS… don’t loose any TOES out there in MONTANA!)

Without further Ado… Kimberlee and Denver:

Melissa and Bill’s Amazingly Awesome Wedding!

Melissa and Bill were married at Kingsway Assembly of God.  Their reception followed at the Marriott Griffin Gate resort.  It was a scorcher of a Saturday with the bright blue skies about and the true Kentucky humidity bearing down.  Of course, it didn’t surprise us at all that this entire wedding party was un-deterred by the heat and humidity!  We were able to stop at Keeneland on the way from the ceremony to the Marriott for a private couple session and wow!  I am truly stunned!  I am PROUD to say that these are some of the most beautiful images I have ever SEEN let alone produced!  Of course, it always helps when you have good subjects!

The wedding colors were blue and purple which were GORGEOUSLY accented throughout the flowers and decor at the reception.  The heat gave way to a PERFECT sunset which we were lucky enough to catch as we strolled along the golf course for a few last shots of the evening.

Bill and Melissa… we wish you all the best in your new life together!

Here’s to Bill and Melissa!!
