Brandi & Dave’s Lexington Wedding Reception

Brandi and Dave had their Lexington Reception at Arts Place in downtown Lexington.  We met up with them at the Hyatt as they started to get ready.  We made our way from the Hyatt to Arts Place on foot and meandered through downtown to get some cool shots.  We managed to stop off at Triangle Park and get a few there as well.  The night ended as Brandi and Dave rode off into the night on their horse drawn carriage.

Brandi and Dave – Negril, Jamaica Wedding Ceremony

Brandi and Dave were married on the beach of Sandals Negril in Jamaica.  It was a truly stunning sunset with the reception lasting late into the darkness.  Everything was gorgeous!  Brandi and Dave’s table, was adorned with an amazing arrangement of flowers in shades of pinks and oranges.  We were invited along to share in their special day and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay in Negril forever!

Not only did we get to experience a fabulous beachfront, sunset wedding with their 4 course reception dinner following (also on the beach… VERY COOL) but we also got to party with them at their reception here in Lexington, once they arrived home!  Being able to spend a bit of time with both Brandi and Dave’s families we know that each of them are very blessed to have their amazing families!

Congratulations Brandi and Dave.  It was our privilege to join you on your fabulous destination wedding.  We wish many years of happiness, health and prosperity!

Randa & James Engagement

Randa and James were the winners of our Free Wedding Giveaway.  Each year we like to find a way to give back so we host a contest and give away a completely free wedding photography package with all the perks.  Randa and James have a pretty amazing story (they are so humble that I am sure they would debate that their “amazingness” but I can say it just the same!). We had SO much fun shooting their engagement pics, from Keeneland to Train Tracks to Commonwealth Stadium and back again.  I always “plan” to shoot an engagement session in under an hour but somehow that seems to get blown out of the water!  We get started and just cannot stop… LOL.

They will be getting married in Wilmore at the Estes Chapel on Asbury’s campus in August.  We are SO very excited to spend their big day with them!!

I give you Randa and James Engagement:

Annette and Tom Wedding Blog Movie

Annette and Tom were married on an abnormally warm October Sunday at the Carrick House in Lexington.  As you watch this video I hope that you can FEEL the magic of their wedding day.  I hope that you can feel the tangible and soft spoken love that is between them.  I hope that you can feel the warmth of their joy.  I watch this video and even though I am the one who created the images I still feel the sting of tears on my cheeks.  Why?  You can ask any photographer and they will tell you that they get attached to their wedding couples and this wedding, these people were somehow different.  When I see the way Annette and Tom look at each other I know.  These two will grow old together.  They have this almost childlike wonder when they stare at each other.  I am often rendered speechless because words seem insignificant when trying to describe what I see when I see them.

Annette and Tom.  I wish you good health, great food, good time, a long life and many MANY years filled with hope, joy and laughter.  I hope that when you look at these images you can still feel the warm October sun, you can smell the humid Kentucky Air, you can TASTE the Bud Light (lol) and that you will always remember your wedding day as vividly as the day it happened.

Zach & Jennifer Wedding Blog Movie

Zach and Jennifer were married on September 27, 2008 at the Bodley Bullock House in Lexington.  It was an unseasonably warm September day.  The bride wore a gorgeous simple lace gown and gracefully floated barefoot down the aisle to her groom.  Surrounded by their closest family and friends they exchanged rings and vows to begin their new life together.  A beautiful reading by Zach mother was followed by a passionate kiss and then the party began.  A live band, cocktails and delectable food entertained the guests.  We were able to sneak away with the couple for a private photo session around the Gratz Park neighborhood.

The day was as beautiful as their love for each other!

Zach and Jennifer… we wish you many years of happiness together!

Kimberly and Jeff’s Signature Club Wedding

Kimberly and Jeff were married on July 26, 2008 at the Signature Club at Landsdowne.  The day was filled with cotton clouds in the sky and the warmth of July heat.  A tear filled journey down the front walk led Kimberly to her first moments with Jeff on their wedding day.  The passion was tangible and they embraced and shared a few minutes together before they began their day.  We even caught the bridal party peeking through the doors to catch a glance at their special moments together.  Surrounded by several hundred of their closest family and friends Jeff and Kimberly took their vows under a gorgeous arbor on the patio of the club’s lower level.  Rings, Vows, and a Kiss to remember with and added bonus kiss and romantic dip as the two made their exit from the ceremony.  Their reception followed in the grand ballroom with plenty food, family and fun.  Possibly one of the most touching moments that I have ever experienced in photographing weddings came when Kimberly shared her Father Daughter dance with her Step-Father Stevie.  I can assure you there was not a dry eye in the house… and that included me.  Bouquets, Garter and even a photo booth.  What a day!

I have known Kimberly for over 10 years.  We were high school buddies.  Jeff and Kimberly’s wedding was a little extra special to Troy and I.  Less than two weeks after their wedding we shared our 8th wedding anniversary.  8 years ago Kimberly not only shared our wedding day with us but she caught MY bouquet.  It was our honor and privilege to have been invited to share in the beginning of Jeff and Kimberly’s new life together.

Ashley & David Wedding Blog Movie

Ashley and David were married on July 19th in Campbellsville Kentucky.  A truly breathtaking day that was decorated at its finest.  The groomsmen wore stately black tuxes and ties.  The bridesmaids looked ravishingly, elegant in their gold satin tafeta dresses.  And who could possibly forget Ashley in her stunningly gorgeous mermaid gown?  I am sure that she took David’s breath away the moment he first saw her walking down the aisle.  The heat of the day with its crisp blue skies gave way to a warm evening breeze that blanketed the Reception which was held on the ground of Ashley’s family home in Campbellsville.  Elegant tents were perfectly spired throughout the trees were highlighted with elegant and towering centerpieces that even including live fish!  A stunning 6 layer cake was served to their guests in as many flavors. (I am pretty sure that the cake was 5 feet tall!!!)

The night culminated with the cake cutting, toasts, and tear filled dances.  The sun set on their day, yet the party was just beginning as the guests, family and friends partied late into the night.  The limo arrived near midnight and the couple made their exit through a canopy of fireworks.  A fitting end to a beautifully orchestrated and simply stunning wedding day.  Definitely a one of a kind “Happily Ever After”.  Our Kudos to Sam Sears of South Van Catering and Michelle Landers of Bridal Potpourri for perfectly planned event!

Congratulations Ashley and David!!!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness, love and laughter!!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your amazing day!

Sarah & Stephen Wedding Blog Movie

Sarah and Stephen were married on July 12, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.  The early morning rains gave way to a beautiful blustery summer sky and lots of humidity!!  The bride wore a beautiful dress with a pop of purple (her favorite color!) and the bridesmaids each wore dresses in a matching shade.  The guy’s looked stunning in black tuxes.  The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt with so many little special touches.  One of the most beautiful things that I have ever experienced at a wedding was watching Stephen’s grandmother gingerly caressing the photo of her husband on the memory table.  Definitely a tear jerking moment!

The evening culminated in a reception with catering by DaRae’s and cake by Tinker’s.

It was our privilege to be a part of their amazing day!

Sandy and Brandon Nicholasville Wedding

Sandy and Brandon were married June 28th at Nicholasville Christian Church.  A beautiful reception followed in Wilmore at the Wesley Village.  Their day was beautiful and eventful.  The blustery heat of the day gave way to a pop up thunderstorm just as they were leaving the church which made for an exciting exit.  It all worked our perfectly though because their formal photos preceeded the wedding and we were able to use the BEAUTIFUL surrounding on the grounds of a family’s friends home just a few minutes from the church.  That is where we were able to take the amazing photos with the historic buildings and pond!!   I am dying to take my own kids back there to get pics of them!!

The day culminated in a tearful slideshow of the couple’s childhoos, followed by a yummy dinner, dancings and by far the best cake smashing I have EVER seen!  These two win the award for cake smashing!!

Congrats Sandy and Brandon!  It was our privilege to be a part of your big day and we wish you all the best!
