They will be getting married in Wilmore at the Estes Chapel on Asbury’s campus in August.  We are SO very excited to spend their big day with them!!

Because we have been in the wedding vendor community for several years now we find ourselves working with many of the same vendors over and over.  We have our favorites and we were TOTALLY stunned when we had the privilege of working with Ruth of Carol Lynn Originals this past weekend (Kimberlee & Denver’s wedding).

Not only were the flowers in stunning arrangement, the combination of flowers was something very unique and the quality was definitely nothing short of perfection.  Even after 5 -6 hours of wear and tear the bouquets were holding up well and showed no signs of wilting (even the hydrangeas and that is a tough thing to accomplish apparently) !  As a wedding photographer you learn to have a discerning eye.  You have tasted and seen the BEST and the worst.  I have shown up to weddings where the flowers were wilted before they even walked down the aisle!  It makes me so sad to see that happen KNOWING that there are some TRULY great florists in our area!

Add to that, the personal instruction that Ruth gave to the bridesmaids on proper placement of flowers when holding them, walking with them, standing with them and I truly have to say that we give two thumbs up to Carol Lynn Originals & Events and HOPE to see more of our couples choosing Ruth and her team VERY SOON!

Schmidt Studio and Gallery is proud to announce that together with the Kentucky Children’s Hospital the piece created for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Fall Mailer (as seen below) won a Silver Addy Award!!  Top that off with the Judges Choice award for Excellence in Copyrighting also!  We are proud on so many levels!  To be able to share our photography and our story and raise money for the Children’s Hospital all at the same time was a truly amazing experience!

I have to give kudos to Aimee Baston (KCH Office of Development), and Jennifer at Sumo Designs for the layout!

God has blessed us with the opportunity to share His love and mercy and we are very proud to say that we KNOW miracles happen.  We know because we live with one every single day.  Every breath that Kyleigh takes is a new miracle and we treasure her!!!  We are so proud to be her parents and are genuinely glad that God chose us to be her guardians!

The Text of the letter reads:
Dear Fellow Kyian,
When I found out that I was having a baby girl, I dreamed… I dreamed of little pink dresses, games of Peek-A-Boo and tea parties. I never dreamed of scary hospital visits, endless surgeries and many worried filled nights watching my baby fight for her life.

I dreamed of what my daughter would look like. Though you cannot see from her picture, Kyleigh- now two years old- has fought through 13 major surgeries (including two open heart procedures). She has battled through life threatening staph infections and double collapsed lungs.

I never dreamed that Kyleigh would be one of the thousands of children helped by the amazing compassion and skill of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital each year. They have become like family to us. Because they have cared so well for my little princess, I ask for your support today.

A gift of $12.50 per month over the next year supports and enhances the incredible care Kentucky Children’s Hospital provides through the best doctors, nurses and staff available for our children, right here in Kentucky. This week I have been working on finalizing plans for our trip to Negril with Brandi and Dave.  They are getting married on the beach and we are going ot be there to capture every beautiful, sunny, warm, amazing moment!  As I am watching it snow outside I have officially started our Jamaica countdown!  We will be heading to Negril with them the second week of May so stay tuned for some rocking beach pics!  I get the feeling we could get used to this destination wedding thing!!!!

Looking for a fierce ride to go out on the town in Lex Vegas?  On Saturday night I got an up close and personal look at the newest addition to the Thoroughbred Limo Fleet… the Hummer H2 Victoria’s Secret Edition PINK Limo.   Thoroughbred has truly brought a bit of Hollywood and Vegas to Lexington!!!

This limo is truly WOW!!!!!  Fricking fabulous!!!!  The entire interior is pink and white and the whole thing just sparkles!  I was totally impressed!  It would be SO cool for a Sweet Sixteen, 21st Birthday or to transport your bachelorettes around town for your last night of freedom!!!  Be sure to give Thoroughbred a call and book soon for your big day.  I am SURE they are booking dates FAST!

Mark and Alex are getting married June 20th.  I am SO excited to be a part of their wedding day.  As soon as Alex left our studio from our initial meeting I told Troy “I REALLY hope she books us!”  I just knew that she and I would connect and be fast friends!  We shot these images in November on a blustery cold day!  No amount of cold could deter us from getting GREAT images though!  The locations used were Keeneland and Waveland State Historic Park.  Two of our faves!

Obviously you can tell we had a blast as traffic was zipping by and honking all the way!  I mean… who WOULDN’T honk at these three beautiful ladies??!!

I also had a blast working with Miss Commonwealth, Kelly Casey, who was a top ten finalist for Miss Kentucky!!!  Congrats Kelly!  We love you!
