Pop Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House

I just had to take a minute out of my furious proofing to post a pic and say a HUGE Thank You to Anna Schuler, Collin Barber and their families.  Every since we first met this couple and became their wedding photographers, they have been collecting pop tabs from their own homes and from those of their friends! Today we met one last time before their wedding on SATURDAY and they delivered to me three GIANT bags of pop tabs!!  That brings tears to my eyes and makes my heart sing. I cannot wait to deliver these to the Ronnie House here in Lexington!!!  I will definitely take pics along the way!!

Just as a fun fact… Did you know that pop tabs are made of high grade aluminum and that there is more value in the pop TAB than there is in the entire can?  Pop tab collection accounts for a SIGNIFICANT portion of the Ronald McDonald House’s donation income!  I highly encourage you… PLEASE PLEASE collect the tabs.  It is something SO simple that makes such a huge difference in the lives of so many sick kids and their families.  Ronnie houses truly are a home away from home for those of us who are forced to leave our homes to find medical care for our children.

I must say I have some of the BEST, most generous clients in the world.

So Congratulations to Anna and Colin!  Saturday is coming soon and I feel it my privilege to be a part of your day!  I cannot wait!  It is going to be a blast!

PS… ignore the crappy pic via the Iphone!!  LOL

Tammy & Elton

Tammy and Elton were married on June 7, 2008 at her family’s home in London, Kentucky. The day was simply divine! It had all the makings of a fairytale. A beautifully manicured garden led you down the path to the scenic ceremony location, while an elegant white tent garnished with feathers and splash of black and white gave you a sneak peek of the fun to come at the reception. The flowers were remarkable, the bride (and bridesmaids) were gorgeous, the groom (and groomsmen) were strikingly handsome.

The whole day was coordinated by Michele Landers of Bridal Potpourri and with the exception of the 100 degree temperatures the day went off without a hitch. Perfect from start to finish is the way I would describe Tammy and Elton’s wedding day.

It was our honor and privilege to be a part of such an amazing event!! Tammy and Elton- we wish you all the love and happiness that the world has to offer and a long lifetime enjoying it together!!!

Without further ado ……….. Tammy and Elton:

James and Kate - Berry Hill Wedding

Kate and James were married on June 21 at the Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort Kentucky. It was an amazing day! I think its every mother’s dream that her little girl would want to wear her wedding gown… Kate did and she looked stunning in it! The evening was complete with catering by Sam Sears and the gang at South Van Catering (we love you Sam!!!!!!!!) and hello! These two had one of the coolest groom’s cakes I had EVER seen! A chocolate cupcake tree complete with CHOCOLATE Air Force Medallions on top! Kudos to mom for making all of those chocolates TWO by TWO!!!!

This is just a sneak peek of the day’s events. The slideshow and galleries are coming SOON!!!

Chelsen & Dackery Cumberland Falls Wedding

Chelsen and Dackery were married May 31, 2008 at Cumberland Falls. While the skies threatened rain it held off and was a gorgeous sunny (traditionally humid) Kentucky Day. I have to give kudos to their Bridal Party… I think Chelsen had some of the most FABULOUS bridesmaids ever!! They were totally attentive and totally willing to do ANYTHING that she asked… even go trudging through murky water!!! My favorite part of the day? Getting wet up to my knees to capture those AMAZING water shots! Chelsen and Dackery were in wedding attire up to their knees also… what great sports… oh yeah.. that and the “His & Hers”… uhhhmmmm LOL (something only Chelsen and Dackery will be able to laugh at!) We wish Chelsen and Dackery all the best. It was our honor to be a part of your big day!!

Without further ado … Chelsen and Dackery Larkey.

Tammy & Elton

Tammy and Elton were married at her parent’s home in London on June 7, 2008.  It was a gorgeous (and HOT) day filled with emerald blue skies.  The day went swimmingly with Michele Landers coordinating.  We always LOVE working with Michele! =)

Tammy and Elton spent the day surrounded by gorgeous gardens and fabulous family /friends.  We truly enjoyed getting to know Tammy and Elton, and I am pretty sure that Tammy and I were separated at birth!!!  Congrats you two!!  This is just a sneak peek of the day!  Stay tuned for more wedding images and the slideshow!

Zach & Jennifer Urban Engagement

Zach and Jennifer are getting married in September and I cannot wait. They have a style that is just so modern and fun!! We, of course, have the privilege of photographing their wedding!!! YAY! We had a blast with these engagement pics and although we nearly melted it was so worth it. Totally cracked me up that I had been eyeballing this location to shoot in and independently Zach and Jennifer had “eye spy”ed it too!!!! Funny how you can be on the same wavelength with someone!

I mean how flipping awesome are these two???

Avery 1 year photos

I have had the privilege of photographing Miss Avery since BEFORE she was born!  How cool is that?  It seems unreal to me that she is a year old.  A few things that I have learned about Avery… she is the DEFINITION of “Daddy’s Girl” and she LOVES sweets!  She tore into that cake like there was no tomorrow!  Hey what girl doesn’t love a little cake??

As a little note to Avery:  May the days that lie ahead of you be filled with amazing experiences, immeasurable happiness, and pure joy!  The world is yours for the taking!  Happy Birthday Avery!

Tate Newborn Photos

We are happy to welcome to the SS&G Family an adorable little Prince Tate. It seems like just yesterday that we were shooting Leigh Ann and David’s Maternity Session… (oh wait… it WAS!) LOL These portraits were made in the comfort of their own home and Tate was an absolute doll sleeping through most of the session. I just love it when they are so tiny and squishy. It was definitely my privilege to work with Tate and his family.

Keith & Ashley Wedding Photos Centenary Methodist and Embassy Suites Lexington

Keith and Ashley were married on May 17, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church and their reception followed at the Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike. I have known Ashley for several years and was MORE than flattered when she and Keith decided to have us photograph their big day. Keith and Ashley are two very special people. I have NEVER seen a couple who have so much FUN together. Ashley has a smile that is just infectious there is no start or end to it… it just erupts into ear to ear grinning and giggling and you can just tell when she looks at Keith that there is no one else on earth who could possibly be any more perfect for her. Keith is an absolute doll! I told Troy after I photographed their engagement almost a year ago that Ashley had definitely met her perfect match. They definitely “complete” each other. I knew going into their wedding day that there would be NO super serious images to be had at this wedding. I don’t honestly know that I have ever seen a bride so giddy happy and excited to walk down that aisle. Their day was a blast filled with a few tears, much love and more laughter than I will ever be able to forget. Keith and Ashley… thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day. Thank you for showing us the meaning of “Live, Laugh, Love”….

We wish you all the best as you begin your life as a married couple! ~Troy and Amber
