Until then… here’s a sneak peek!  Do you ever take a photo that literally pops out of the camera and takes your breath away?  I love my photos and my couples but its not often that I gasp watching the photos download onto my screen.  Tonight… even though I captured this couple, this IMAGE captured me…..

Melissa and Bill’s Amazingly Awesome Wedding!

Melissa and Bill were married at Kingsway Assembly of God.  Their reception followed at the Marriott Griffin Gate resort.  It was a scorcher of a Saturday with the bright blue skies about and the true Kentucky humidity bearing down.  Of course, it didn’t surprise us at all that this entire wedding party was un-deterred by the heat and humidity!  We were able to stop at Keeneland on the way from the ceremony to the Marriott for a private couple session and wow!  I am truly stunned!  I am PROUD to say that these are some of the most beautiful images I have ever SEEN let alone produced!  Of course, it always helps when you have good subjects!

The wedding colors were blue and purple which were GORGEOUSLY accented throughout the flowers and decor at the reception.  The heat gave way to a PERFECT sunset which we were lucky enough to catch as we strolled along the golf course for a few last shots of the evening.

But first I must reflect on HOW FUN their day was!  Bill (the groom) has a twin brother- and as much as they don’t look alike THEY DO!!!  Thank goodness they had on different colored ties!  (I might have been in trouble otherwise!)  But this entire wedding party was a stitch.  If I gave a superlative to this wedding it would be “MOST OUTRAGEOUSLY FUN WEDDING PARTY!” ….

So as you can see above.  they took their duties as wedding attendants seriously.  I am pretty sure that Bill and his brother BOTH jumped higer than they are tall!  Troy and I have laughed at this pic 100 times!  Now its time for you to laugh with us!

Can I just say that Melissa’s eyes were literally SPARKLING as she walked down that aisle?  I was so glad I could catch “the look”.  Do you see it?

We were able to stop at Keeneland on the commute from the ceremony (Kings Way Assembly of God in Versailles) to the reception Marriott Griffin Gate.  I was SO glad we did because we got some SUPER shots!

And yes the smashing of the cake still LIVES at Melissa and Bill’s wedding!  I just KNEW when they donned the pastel napkins that it was ALL over!

Randa & James Engagement

Randa and James were the winners of our Free Wedding Giveaway.  Each year we like to find a way to give back so we host a contest and give away a completely free wedding photography package with all the perks.  Randa and James have a pretty amazing story (they are so humble that I am sure they would debate that their “amazingness” but I can say it just the same!). We had SO much fun shooting their engagement pics, from Keeneland to Train Tracks to Commonwealth Stadium and back again.  I always “plan” to shoot an engagement session in under an hour but somehow that seems to get blown out of the water!  We get started and just cannot stop… LOL.

They will be getting married in Wilmore at the Estes Chapel on Asbury’s campus in August.  We are SO very excited to spend their big day with them!!

Melissa and Bill braved the elements with me for their engagement session at Keeneland.  They are getting married in June and we are looking forward to their big day!

Brandi and Dave’s Engagement- Keeneland

This week I have been working on finalizing plans for our trip to Negril with Brandi and Dave.  They are getting married on the beach and we are going ot be there to capture every beautiful, sunny, warm, amazing moment!  As I am watching it snow outside I have officially started our Jamaica countdown!  We will be heading to Negril with them the second week of May so stay tuned for some rocking beach pics!  I get the feeling we could get used to this destination wedding thing!!!!

Mark and Alex – Keeneland Engagement

Mark and Alex are getting married June 20th.  I am SO excited to be a part of their wedding day.  As soon as Alex left our studio from our initial meeting I told Troy “I REALLY hope she books us!”  I just knew that she and I would connect and be fast friends!  We shot these images in November on a blustery cold day!  No amount of cold could deter us from getting GREAT images though!  The locations used were Keeneland and Waveland State Historic Park.  Two of our faves!

Annette and Tom – Bi Coastal love turned Kentucky Engagement Session…

Annette and Tom came a LONG way for our photo sessions! Annette drove from DC (kudos to her!) and Tom flew in on a late night flight from Cali! We ended up shooting Annette’s bridals on a Thursday (which will be under lock and key … or just a password until after their wedding in October) and their Engagement on Friday! The very first time I met Annette I knew that she was definitely a SS&G Bride! So very confident, comfortable with herself and when she spoke of Tom I could literally SEE the twinkle in her eye. I had the privilege of hearing their love story while we were photographing their engagement session and it is certainly one for the books. A Bi-Coastal love, the bulk of which has been spent with she on the East Coast (DC) and he on the West Coast (Cali)… I don’t know how they do it!!!!  At any rate their passion shines through and the two of them together seem unscathed by the adversity. I am so excited to photograph their wedding and to be a part of a amazing beginning of the rest of their lives!

Congrats you two! See you in October!

Beth & Brian’s Wedding Macedonia Christian & Keeneland

Beth and Brian were married on May 10, 2008 at the Macedonia Christian Church in Lexington. Their reception followed at the Keene Barn Entertainment Center on the gorgeous property of Keeneland. It was our first time photographing a wedding party there and WOW. The day was gorgeous with bright blue cloudless skies and a crisp cool breeze. Beth wore a gorgeous antique lace gown and her bridesmaids donned fabulous COACH shoes. (We LOVED those btw!!) It was a high energy day filled with many laughs and tons of love. Beth and Brian celebrated late into the night surrounded by their family and friends. It was our privilege to be a part of their special day.

Beth and Brian- Macedonia Christian and Keeneland Wedding

Beth and Brian were married last Saturday at Macedonia Christian Church and their reception was held at Keeneland. It was a gorgeous day for both of our wedding couples and although I only got to spend a short amount of time with Beth and Brian on their wedding day I did have the privilege of being the first to look over the pictures that Troy and Kimberly Smoot shot and WOW… just WOW. Beth and Brian… you all are going to croak! They are gorgeous!
